CALL TO ACTION – WHY WE NEED TO FUNDRAISE

This week has been a celebration of International Women’s Day with this year’s focus being #AccelerateAction.

#AccelerateAction is of great importance this year. With ever increasing costs, lack of funding, essential services being cut and yet constantly having to meet the ever-increasing demand upon our services.

Last year we supported 1470 women and families throughout Aberdeen city & Shire. In 2025 we expect our figures to rise above 1500. For over 45 years we have supported the Grampian region by providing, practical, emotional and refuge support to women and children dealing with all aspects of domestic abuse. We have fought and continue to fight for the eradication of domestic abuse, but until such times as it has gone, we need to be here to not only support those directly affected, but to educate younger generations about positive choices, relationships and gender equality in all aspects of their life.

For us to be able to continue to support as many people as possible in Grampian, we urgently need funds. So…. we are calling out to all our amazing supporters, friends, corporate partners and strong women to help us smash our fundraising goals for this year.

Let’s get creative!

We are lining up a series of events that we will promoting at various points throughout the year. Keep an eye out for our new event calendar with links for you to sign up. Get a team together with friends, use it as team building exercise in work or simply do it as a personal challenge!

Perhaps you prefer to swim and will challenge yourself to swim the equivalent of Loch Ness! Or maybe you like to walk with your dog…. pledge yourself to walk 5k each day with your furry friend! Or have a bake sale at work or home. After all, who does not like a fine piece or two??
