Find out more about domestic abuse, in all its forms, and of the specialist work of Grampian Women’s Aid
We love to share our story at Grampian Women’s Aid. We have in-depth and specialist understanding of domestic abuse and its impact, informed by over forty years of listening to and working with women, children and young people. We know that domestic abuse is not just hitting, and for many physical violence may never take place; it is about a pattern of coercive and controlling behaviour that impacts the ability of women, children and young people to live safe and free lives.
The women, children and young people who reach out to us are each experiencing domestic abuse in circumstances unique to them and our support packages are tailored to reflect the individual requirements of each person we support. Our services include:
-
One to one support
-
Advice and information on many issues including housing and benefits
-
Advocacy
-
Access to temporary accommodation
-
Group Work
We would be delighted to come along and provide a talk to your group or association. We can tailor content to suit your requirements and topics may typically include: sharing with you the history of Grampian Women’s Aid; the different forms of domestic abuse; society’s misconceptions surrounding domestic abuse; and our work to support women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.
