Own My Life

Grampian Women’s Aid are delighted to offer this online course for women living in Aberdeen or Aberdeenshire.

An innovative, creative & educational 12-week course supporting women who have been subjected to domestic abuse by a partner to regain ownership of their lives – our mind, body, choices, relationships, world and feelings.

Content includes short videos, structured discussions and group and individual activities.

Using multimedia content, the sessions explain complex concepts about trauma and abuse in easy to understand video clips.  Along with videos evidencing how popular culture reinforces, or perpetuates, sexism, rape culture, violence, misogyny, disrespect in relationships and abusive behaviour.

Each course attendee receives an individual learning journal which provides women with space for reflection and includes all the information provided throughout the course.  In addition, the journal can be used as a useful ongoing resource after the course has finished.

Course sessions run on the same day and at the same time each week and each session is 2 hours duration.
